http://fashionnews99.blogspot.com/,designs,party season , tailored jacket,Egyptian cotton sheets

what’s the scoop? How to wear the vast shirt and not look like a four-man tent? First up, make sure it’s a good ’un. By this, I mean it must be made from superior cotton. You will know superior cotton because it behaves impeccably and is rather more expensive than inferior cotton (which, conversely, looks constantly close to exhaustion and trails about your body thinly like a stray cat).

It’s the same as the difference between top-notch towels and those rubbish meagre ones that couldn’t dry an eye. Or between high-count Egyptian cotton sheets of the slippy hotel variety, and those cheap B&B sheets that pill in a most unwelcoming fashion as soon as they look at you. So, expensive.

Look for mannish details – double cuffs, placket fronts, a proper collar. Ticking stripes would be nice. Think of it as your ironic nod to the banking fraternity. Then turn back the cuffs to reveal your tiny feminine wrists. Turn up the collar to frame your pixie face. Add a belt if you need shape.

Alas, only the skinny can get away with a voluminous shirt which simply billows in the wind; you and I need a little definition. Do it with a wide belt, or lob on a tailored jacket – a smaller tailored jacket. Smaller! The idea is to play with proportion, not look as if you’re on your way to a trade union conference after a
large lunch.

And there you have it. Winter wrapped up. I’m not expecting you to wear your man shirt to Christmas parties, but for Boxing Day and beyond? Bring it on.http://fashionnews99.blogspot.com/

Victoria Beckham has been devastated by the theft of her £350,000 collection of new dresses in a knife-point hijack.

The exclusive frocks were taken during a well-planned roadside heist on Thursday.

Victoria had spent months on the designs but the entire collection, believed to be between 50 and 75 dresses, is now gone.

The frocks were stolen from a lorry after it picked up the range from the singer's management offices in West London.

The driver, who collected the dresses from the former Spice Girl's 19 Entertainment base, was shaken and bruised after being forced to the ground during the attack.http://fashionnews99.blogspot.com/search?updated-max=2009-12-05T06:50:00-08:00&max-results=1

Award-winning Taiwanese fashion designer speaks of future plans

New York, Dec. 4 (CNA) Award-winning Taiwanese fashion designer, Johan Ku, said that he may create his own brand under his name in the future, while revealing a plan to fly home to Taiwan for a short visit in mid-December to hold a presentation of his works.

Ku, owner of the Johan Ku Design Studio, recently won the top prize in the Avant-Garde design category of the 2009 Gen Art's Styles International Design Competition, with one of his 2004 designs -- a knitted one-piece wool dress that highlights the delicacy of the yarn and displays creative patterns.

The 30-year-old attended the award ceremony in midtown Manhattan on Wednesday. He will fly back to London, where he is studying art, on Saturday to continue studying at the Central Saint Martins School of Art and Design.

Speaking to the Central News Agency before leaving for the U.K., Ku said he wants to show Taiwanese people 10 pieces of works he created in recent years, to tell them how he creates "sculpture-like" knitwear,

As the media has attributed Ku's victory in the New York contest to his ingenuity, Ku encouraged other Taiwanese fashion talents to be creative and confident in their works.

The holiday party season is officially underway. The calendar will be filled with functions with co-workers, family and friends, and it's important to always dress appropriately for the occasion, be it a casual get-together or a glamorous gala.

The LBD (little black dress) is always a good choice as it can be dressed up or down depending on how you accessorize. Glamour is no longer defined by length: until recently, a full-length gown was the only way to go, but short has taken over -- how short is up to you.http://fashionnews99.blogspot.com/search?updated-max=2009-12-05T06:28:00-08:00&max-results=1
