Katrina and Ranbir sizzle at Rohit Bal’s grand finale

New Delhi: Ace fashion designer Rohit Bal gave a fitting grand finale to the glitzy-starry Wills India Fashion Week that ended on Wednesday. With Bollywood sizzlers Ranbir and Katrina walking the ramp for the designer, Bal stole the show both for his larger than life show choreography and exceptional ensembles.

And even though it was Bal’s judgment day, Bollywood hunk Ranbir Kapoor had sweaty palms. The dishy actor who sashayed the ramp with his co-star Katrina Kaif was a bundle of nerves for the much-anticipated grand finale as he feared walking with the lissome lass.

Talking about his ramp experience, Ranbir said, “I was pretty nervous to face the stage with a veteran model like Katrina. The idea of walking the ramp with her made me go blank every time I thought of it. It was she who led me beautifully to the stage making me feel comfortable with her”.

Dressed in Bal’s exotic collection, Ranbir wore a cream colour sherwani-style coat with pyjamas and Katrina had an embellished similar colour tunic to team up with him.

With A-list models like Muzzamil Ibrahim, Carol Gracias, Jessy Randhawa, Nayanika Chaterjee and Lisa Hayden walking the ramp for the talented designer, Bal said that his show was based on ‘Exotic India’ theme.

“My collection signifies the golden bird and the golden peacock which India was known before the British era. The collection is called ‘Yasas’, a name which the nation was once known by for its elegance and grandeur,” Bal said.

“The fabric used in the form of rich velvet, net, muslin in deep red, green shahi (princely) colours portrays the Indian woman,” added Bal.

Salman Khan walked the ramp with Sushmita Sen and there was a small stampede caused by fans wanting more of their favorite actor. Salman wore a plain black shirt with a prominent belt.

A female fan informed “I saw Salman Khan walk the ramp but I want to hear him once”.

Dressed in designs by Sanjana Jon, , Salman hit the runway in his typical style and waved out to his fans in the audience. The jam-packed show area would go crazy each time Salman appeared on the ramp. Some one was heard saying, “I wish he removes his shirt!”…but Sallu left them wishing so!

Watching Sohail and Salman sharing the ramp left debutant designer Sanjana Jon teary eyed in remembering her brother Anand Jon, the famous Paris based Indian designer who is serving a prison sentence there.
“Of course I am missing my brother, but I’m happy that I’ve got so many brothers now,” said Sanjana talking about Salman,
Sohail, Vijender and the Bangash brothers – Ayaan and Amaan accompanying her post the show

Though people don’t mind spending money to look good, fitness expert Aamit of FX Zone, Noida, says that slimming centres are not the best way to get rid of those extra kilos and inches.
“In all possibility, the inches or the kilos that you have dropped will pile up soon once you start neglecting your body. These clinics put you on a diet minus exercise and once you go back to your normal diet you will put on weight for sure,” Aamit explained.
“The best way to stay healthy forever is to exercise regularly and eat healthy. It is a very slow process but in the end the results will definitely make you happy as well as proud,”
